Modiano and Paris

The French writer Patrick Modiano has been awarded with the Nobel Prize in literature. This front-page from Liberation was one of the best ones:

Spanish newspapers reported on the story. We loved a double-page published by La Vanguardia the day after: the "Modiano´s route through Paris". Excellent idea, excellent information.

Not only the day-to-day

Any section from a newspaper, if it whats to become a model, needs to offer, frequently, pages that come from the day-to-day. Those "bonuses" are usuallly a synonym of good information, facts, a better design. An editor summarized, time ago, what was happening to his newspaper with this sentence: "The day-to-day drives out the good themes". From here we propose another idea: "That good themes become the day-to-day". Today´s entry shows some examples in the sports sections. They are from El CorreoEl PeriódicoLa Vanguardia  and Las Provincias

With the Breogán

Every year, when the basketball season begins, El Progreso (Lugo) publishes a supplement about the Breogán. We are going to show some  pages. We highlight two things: the first one, remembering the team that 30 years ago achieved the best table position in the club´s history (6º in the ACB League); the second point to highlight about the supplement is the photographic effort  to talk about the actual team.

Moving around the city

We´ve seen these days two good examples of how to do an evaluation about mobility and public transportation in a city. The first one, from Heraldo, is approached in an excellent double-page. In the second one, from Ideal  (Granada), it becomes the main theme and is approached in great depth.

Titín lll(2)

National newspapers, newspapers where "pelota" is the number one sport. But we didn´t show the "closest" newspaper to the protagonist. We refer to La Rioja. They made a complete follow-up work about Titín, that ended with the pelotari visiting the newspaper.

Something is missing. The best is missing. The supplement that La Rioja dedicated to his most distinguished athlete. Complete. Beautiful.

Tintín lll (1)

He is from La Rioja. He´s 45 years old. He´s a "pelota" player. A forward. Titles, temperament, spectacle. Augusto Ibáñez, better known as Tintín, retired the 5th of October in his favorite court wall: Adagarra, in Logroño. His goodbye to the sport had an impact in national newspapers such as El Mundo, but mostly in those regional newspapers where "pelota" is one of the main sports. Like  El Diario VascoDiario de Navarra and El Correo.
