The more articles we read about a story, the more necessary it is to offer an analysis, context. We need to think about the reader, maybe by putting aside the avalanche of statements and betting for helping people to think. We´ve seen a good example in El Diario Vasco in relation to the yes-no Catalonian referendum.

Facts to draw conclusions
To explain with facts. To conclude with facts. Analysis instead of common places. Rigour. Newspapers bet, more and more, on pages based on facts they receive or obtain. Pages different on their ways of telling. We feature four examples from Las Provincias and from La Vanguardia.

Terraces in Barcelona
Excellent coverage in El Periódico as a result of a piece of information: 56% of the nightstands from bars and restaurants in Barcelona fail to complete the regulations. Great information and an excellent way of telling.

200 years later
We have seen in La Verdad a couple of good examples. In the first one, experts give ideas to improve Spain´s and Murcia´s situation; the second example analyzes a tapestry´s main characteristics. Good and clear ways of telling.

Alternative tourism
Tourism isn´t only the seaside. Although, sadly, the person that moves away from the sand has less prestige than the one that stays close to the swimsuit and the umbrella. We have seen a great analysis in Las Provincias.

Roads...
Two newspapers have coincided in focusing on the conditions of their community´s roads. Good analysis to conclude, like Las Provincias does it, with a word that says everything: SOS. The other example is from Diario de Navarra.

Radiographies
The word “radiography” talks about analysis, good analysis. It can be applied to any reality. It can be concrete or generous in its extension. Just as occurs in these two examples. We have seen the first one in the V Supplement. The second one, published in eleven installments, is from Heraldo.

A well-accompained text
They have always existed, but maybe nowadays they seem to be more necessary than ever. And here, newspapers have a lot to contribute. We are referring to, of course, analysis. These can be done in any issue and plenty of ways of telling can be used. The too-extensive text is no longer the only way. Infographics are, of course, today the great ally of a good analysis. We are featuring a few ones from Diario de Noticias, La Voz de Galicia, El Correo, Las Provincias, La Rioja and El Diario Vasco

Great analysis
A very complete double-page from La Voz de Galicia. There are facts and fantastic graphics. The title is also excellent.

The most influential scientists
Yesterday it was one of the breaking news stories of the day: the researcher Juan Carlos Izpisúa resigned from being the director of the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona. Sometimes newspapers "forget" about scientists, who only appear in their pages... when they are leaving. Because of that we recover a recent double-page from La Vanguardia focused on the six most influential Spaniards in the world. A very good theme and very well approached.

To take note
The beginning of the year usually provides plenty of pages that tell us about events happening in the New Year. A lot of times, the essence is the fact (books, films…) and other times it is the experts´ opinion. We have seen various cases in El Correo and La Vanguardia:
Faithful to its tradition, the Catalonian newspaper published the 2nd of January its outstanding pages with the anniversaries for 2014. We have always thought they were a privilege to read and a great guide, above all for many sections in a newspaper, which can take note and prepare information in advance about some of those anniversaries:

The more analysis, the better
The more facts we have, the more analysis we need: It´s harder but also essential. A lot of information and a head to organize it are needed, but that´s what the reader expects from a newspaper. We have read a few interesting examples from La Vanguardia, La Voz de Galicia and Las Provincias these days:
