Today we feature five excellent examples from El Periódico. They are excellent because the themes are good, they are well-addressed and because the put into page is perfect.

Telling the story in one page
We now this blog has its shortcomings, that many times we are unfair. We could pinpoint those gaps, but today we are focusing on one. Plenty of the examples we show are stories published as double-pages. It looks like good journalism implies it. But that´s not true. There are excellent cases of really good pieces of information that are told in one page. Stories that, of course, are (also) visually attractive .We´ve been keeping some examples these days. They are from several newspapers: Ideal, ABC, El Mundo, La Vanguardia, El Diario Vasco, El Periódico, Las Provincias and La Rioja.

Ebola
Hot news decide. In this entry we´ll show recent information, graphics, pictures that we though were interesting. Both, printed and online media. From Spanish and foreign media.
The first thing that is worth to present is the effort made by Spanish media to explain things through infographics. Lets see some examples from El Correo, El Mundo, ABC, La Vanguardia and El Pais.
These days we´ve also seen a fantastic picture from Samuel Aranda in the front-page of the New York Times; and, maybe, the cartoon —from André Carrilho— that best shows what´s happening:
In addition, we´ve found excellent pieces of information in digital media. This is a selection of 27 worth knowing:

The story... and more
Every newspaper reported the death of the priest Miguel Pajares. But some took a step forward. In addition to the story, that day they provided a local approach. Diario Vasco talked with members from his community, Las Provincias with a Valencian nun that is going back to Africa, Ideal with a friend of the late missionary, Diario de Navarra with a doctor...

The Ebola virus, protagonist
The presence of the Ebola virus in Spanish newspapers has increased as a result of the missionary Miguel Pajares´ contagion. Recently, we have seen a complete "of the day" information in El Mundo: the prist speaks, there´s information, good graphics, supporting news...

87 movies
There are facts that come from books, from publications that narrate local stories. In Diario de Burgos we have seen some pages that make the most of an investigation.

Woof!
We have titled that way because this entry has all to do with dogs. Newspapers talk about people, but they also narrate stories about man´s best friend. More than we can even imagine. These are some stories recently posted by La Voz de Galicia:

Our goodbye to Gabo
It´s been a few days since Gabriel García Márquez passed away. We have seen a lot of pages about him. We didn´t want The Good Press to overlook the great writer and journalist. We offer just a few front pages. And, because we loved it, the supplement published by El Heraldo from Barranquilla, the newspaper in which Gabo began his journalistic career.
